Tourism Attractions
Introduction
Central Scotland and The Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park offer a wide variety of tourist attractions including historic monuments such as Doune and Stirling Castles, the Wallace Monument and Inchmahome Priory. There are boat cruises on Loch Lomond, steamer trips on Loch Katrine, a distillery to visit, The Wool Centre with a show on the history of sheep in Scotland and the Queen Elizabeth Forest Park visitor centre to mention just a few. On top of all this is the beautiful scenery with its splendid rivers, waterfalls, lochs and forests where you can enjoy the closeness of nature.
For shopping needs and eating out: the villages of Kippen and Buchlyvie are both within 4 miles and have a good selection of shops, pubs and hotels with excellent restaurant facilities. Further afield but within a 10 mile radius, the larger villages /small towns of Aberfoyle and Callander provide a wider choice as well as a number of features and activities geared for tourists.
The historic town of Stirling dominated by its ancient castle lies only 15 miles from Cardross and provides a range of attractive features for visitors as well as full shopping facilities and integrated transport links to all parts of Scotland.
We are sure the list of attractions below will whet your appetite, and if that is not enough just look at our Attractions Photo Gallery. And don't forget, Stirling, Edinburgh and Glasgow are not far and with their many museums, art galleries, shops and restaurants offer much to enjoy.
